A fireworks spectacular in Portsmouth brought more than 200 families from three schools together for an evening of entertainment.

Meon Infant School, Moorings Way Infant School and Meon Junior School in Milton – which collectively form Meon Way Federation – welcomed families to their Moorings Way site for entertainment, food and 10-minute fireworks show.

Money raised from tickets and donations will support the schools fundraising efforts to make their outdoor spaces greener by bringing the natural world into their playgrounds for children to enjoy.

Sara Paine, Executive Headteacher at Meon Way Federation, praised the team for bringing three school communities together for an evening of entertainment.

She said: “At Meon Way Federation, we love bringing families from across our three schools together for events and activities to remember and I’m so proud of the work of the team to get to this moment.

“This year, our tickets were sold and capacity was hit quickly so it’s wonderful to see there is demand and popularity for these kinds of occasions. It was fantastic to bringing in an external professional company to lead this for everyone to enjoy. We’re already thinking about and planning our next community events and opportunities.”
